THE WORD OF GOD, AND HIS PROMISE OF LIFE

The Bible is a remarkable book. It was written over a period of 1,600 years, and was completed about 2,000 years ago. There has never been a sequel, or a Part 2. The writers were inspired by God, which means that He guided their pens, but allowed their personalities to shine through. The Bible is divided into two parts, the Old and the New Testaments. The word Testament means agreement or promise – and so the first part is basically God’s covenant with the Jewish people; and the New Testament is the account of Jesus Christ and his promise to his people (Christians).
